The Process

Stage One: Booking

To book a photosession with Maree Jaeger Photography simply email or call me with your preferred dates and times and I will advise of availability.

Note that if you are booking a children’s session try and choose the times when they are at their best. Likewise with bookings for portraits of people with medical conditions/special needs. If you have a preferred location please advise when booking- if you’d like suggestions from me then that is fine too. Weekends are the most popular days for bookings so I recommend booking early to secure your preferred date.

Photo sessions are booked on the understanding that you will sign a standard model/copyright release form and that Maree Jaeger Photography retains copyright of all images produced.

Prices are subject to change at any time however prices are locked in at your time of booking.

I do understand that it may be necessary to cancel or reschedule a photo session however there will be a $20 session fee surcharge for a rescheduled appointment less than 2 days prior to the original booked date.

If I deem that the weather is not appropriate for an outdoor session I will notify you at the earliest opportunity and we will reschedule.

Please note that you are never under any obligation to purchase prints.

Referrals.

I love to receive referrals from clients so the referred client will receive 10% off any product or service. If you were referred to me please let me know who referred you.

Gift vouchers are available and remain valid for one year from the date of purchase.

Stage Two: Pre Session Consultation

Once a session has been booked, I work with you in preparation for the session and provide you with information on the common queries regarding my photo shoots. A PDF “Preparing for the session” which covers what to wear, bring and expect will be emailed to you when the booking has been confirmed. Alternatively you can contact me to discuss any issues you may have prior to the photo shoot. It is important to me that you feel comfortable with the process of the photo session and I am happy to answer any queries or concerns and discuss any ideas that you may have for the session! No question is too trivial or strange!! We can also include an Image Styling consultation at this point also.

Stage Three: The Photo Session

The actual photo session is fun and relaxed, and will usually take at least an hour- sometimes more sometimes less for newborn sessions. I am more than happy to have breaks if little ones need feeding, changing, snacks and so on. Children’s sessions often work best without parent direction, I have found that when I simply interact with the children it is easier to capture them being themselves. If there is a particular shot that you want please discuss this with me during the pre session consultation so that I can build it into the actual session. Click on Session Types for details regarding specific photo sessions.

Stage Four: Post Processing

Typically I shoot in high definition digital RAW format (I still use film on the very odd occasion!)I then go into my digital darkroom and individually process each file where required and often create additional artistic variations of images for you to choose from. One complimentary storyboard layout will also be created if requested. Please advise of size and number of photos.

Stage Five: Client Proofing/Image Styling

I select the best images (the number varies depending on the nature of the session, but usually between 20-40 images). Next I create an online password protected proofing gallery or proofing sheet (if client does not have internet access). A proofing book can also be created for additional charge. Usually the online gallery will be created 1-3 weeks after the photo session. Note that the online proofs are NOT suitable for printing but feel free to share your gallery with family and friends. You will also receive the Image Styling Booklet this will help you select the best products or product mix for you. An inhouse proofing and ordering session occurs at a time convenient to you.

Once full payment has been received your selected images will be sent to our professional printing agency for development. Images will be printed to the highest standards using silver halide 200 year archival quality paper or other speciality fine art archival papers. Payment options are direct deposit, credit card, cheque or cash.

Stage Six:Archiving.

The photos are all archived incase you should need to access them in the future.

Stage Seven: Enjoy!
